Hey party peeps!
I had the pleasure of designing this 80’s themed candy bar for one of my adult clients. What a blast! Being 40, I vividly remember the 80’s! My experience with the 80’s included fat gold chains, gold bamboo hoop earrings (with the name on it), shellhead Adidas with the fat laces and of course the Kangol hats and flavored Lees! Holla if you know what I’m talking about!
For this, my client’s party decor (she did herself) and used LOTS of neon colors. To provide her a wow factor for her party, I designed this candy bar with a show-stopping feather boa backdrop of bright colors that complemented perfectly all the other bright colored party decor. It was also a dance party in a dark venue, so lighting was IMPORTANT! I used uplighting and floralytes to highlight the candy and signage.
GIRLFRIEND TIP:
I NEVER keep the packaging on the candy when I design candy bars unless the packaging is important to the theme. Here the packaging is EVERYTHING! All the candy is retro and would lose their significance if I removed everything from it’s packaging and displayed the candy loose.
