Hey party peeps!
I’m so excited to share DETAILS & TIPS on the “GIRLY CIRCUS” BUDGET CHIC TABLE DESIGN as seen in my latest “Look for Less” guest post for HWTM in celebration of my newest printables collection, “Girly Circus!” AVAILABLE NOW BY CLICKING HERE. If you missed the post, click here to check it out.
BUDGET CHIC TIP #1:
BEGIN WITH A WELL DESIGNED PRINTABLES PACKAGE!
We will provide full DIY and Ready-to-Use printable packages in our shop beginning October 1st. I believe that using COMPLETE PACKAGES in your party design is KEY in achieving that pulled together, pro look! From the invite to the favor labels! We also believe that PERSONALIZED PACKAGES are KEY to achieving a one-of-a-kind memorable look to your party, so we personalize all of our packages!
BUDGET CHIC TIP #2:
USE A GLAM COLOR PALETTE!
To achieve a high end look for less, COLORS ARE KEY! The combo of light pink, white and black immediately look HIGH END and GLAMOUROUS! They conjure up feelings of boutiques and Paris…VERY chi-chi…AND INSTANT BUDGET CHIC!
BUDGET CHIC TIP #3:
USE A LINEN TABLECLOTH IN A DARK COLOR!
Tables that are set with a dark table linen is a great way to achieve a Budget Chic look for less. It gives your table a richness and punch of color. NEVER use plastic tablecloths if you can avoid it. There are so many inexpensive options for cloth tablecloths from shower curtains, sheets and drapes. PLUS, trying to keep a plastic tablecloth from blowing off the table outside is a nightmare! This one I used is actually a curtain from my son’s room! Fabric is also an option I use ALL THE TIME and I am NOT A SEWER! So, hemming tape is my friend!
BUDGET CHIC TIP #4:
REFURBISH SECOND HAND DECOR!
To achieve a budget chic look, I scour Goodwill stores, flea markets and swap meets for great pieces that I can spraypaint and/or embellish to give it a fabulous look that matches my party theme! I did this here with the tall white tin vase that was originally brown found at Burlington Coat Factory for $10 and the ceramic elephants that were also brown found at Michaels last year for 75% off. A fresh coat of glossy white SPRAYPAINT and RHINESTONE STICKERS..and VOILA! BUDGET CHIC!
BUDGET CHIC TIP #5:
USE PARTY FAVORS IN YOUR DECOR!
This tip I use ALL THE TIME! Use party favors in cool ways in your decor to do DOUBLE-DUTY! Party favors aren’t taken by the guests until the end of the party, so why not use them in the decor while the party is going on! That way you don’t have a huge amount of themed items leftover after the party that you may not ever use again!
Here I used white and pink and white and black inflatable beach balls in the decor by spreading them out around the yard and also in each guest’s chair. The kids will also play with these during the party so…TRIPLE DUTY–Activity ~ Favor ~ Decor!
Check out how I used the “big top” favor box on each placesetting that you can use to hold any “non-matching” favor. It also works well to keep the paper plates from flying away, just be sure to put a heavy item in the favor box. And, how about black bow hair clips as napkin rings! It’s as easy as folding the napkin and clipping on the bow! AND…each guest takes theirs home with them!
BUDGET CHIC TIP #6:
USE DISPOSABLE ITEMS THAT MATCH!
To achieve a budget chic look in your table design, look for inexpensive disposable items that match your colors and patterns in your party design. Here I used a pink and white striped plastic tablecloth as a runner. I gathered both ends together and tied it with a black bow to give it a finished look. I also used the pink and white striped and polka dot disposable dining paper pack from The TomKat Studio shop. To pull it all together, I grounded each placesetting with a disposable charger made from 12×12 scrapbook card stock that matches your colors and theme. The finished look is very BUDGET CHIC!
Hope you can use some of these “Budget Chic” tips for your next party no matter the theme! Do you have any tips you’d like to share? I’d love to hear….leave a comment below.
