Hey party peeps!
I’m so excited to share DETAILS & TIPS on the “GIRLY CIRCUS” DESIGNER TABLE DESIGN as seen in my latest “Look for Less” guest post for HWTM in celebration of my newest printables collection, “Girly Circus!” AVAILABLE NOW BY CLICKING HERE. If you missed the post, click here to check it out. I’ve gotten alot of questions via email wanting details on this table…so…here it goes!
THE INSPIRATION–STUFFED HIPPO & ELEPHANT:
I was on Amazon.com one day looking for something else and came across this super cute hippo! I was instantly drawn to the girly black, white and pink colors and whimsical textures & patterns on it! Upon further research, I found that there was a matching elephant as part of Gund’s collection, “Girls Just Wanna Have Gund”! I immediately purchased them both to create an entire “Girly Circus!”© party design! I have gotten so many emails asking about these! They can be purchased online. The animals were the first purchase I made for this and inspired the color palette and the whimsical, girly feel of the party.
GIRLFRIEND PRO TIP: When I purchase toys to use in party decor, I give them to the guest of honor after the party. That way they do double-duty and you don’t have a bunch of themed-specific decor left over in your inventory. It also makes the expense of them worth it to see the smile on your client’s face when you give them the toys.
THE PRINTABLES:
The printables were used to pull the entire table together from the personalized table sign, place card Lolli-tags™ to the plate inlays in each plate to give the table a unique and personalized feel.
GIRLFRIEND TIP: Plate inlays are paper printables that are cut to fit the inside of a plate and then topped with the same sized clear plate so that the artwork shows through and the plates are still usuable to eat from. If you don’t have printables to use, you can simply use any scrapbook paper that matches your color palette and theme.
THE CENTERPIECE–BLING CANDELABRA:
I love using tall centerpieces on round tables. It just gives the table a great balance and visually stunning when you look out into the party. Here I used a white candelabra that I embellished with pink rhinestone stickers and topped with pink candles that I wrapped with ribbon and embellished with a pink rhinestone.
GIRLFRIEND TIP: Using pink pillar candles wrapped with a black ribbon provides a punch of color tall above the table and pulls the color from the table into the centerpiece to create a unified look. You would not have gotten this same look if you used plain white candles.
THE CENTERPIECE–ANIMALS RIDING BLING IRON BIKES:
Just as important as the height of the centerpiece is the bottom of the centerpiece. This area should be just as visually stunning, but complement the tall piece. Here you see how I used the same white iron design element in both. The iron bikes were originally a dark brown. I spraypainted them white, softened them up with pink bows and embellished with the same pink rhinestone stickers to match the candelabra.
GIRLFRIEND TIP: When embellishing your table’s centerpiece, pick ONLY 1 or 2 embellishments to keep it from being too gaudy! Don’t be tempted to go crazy with embellishments! A few strategically placed rhinestones goes a long way in creating a high-end look. Here I used pink rhinestones and bows as my 2 embellishments to visually pull the entire centerpiece together.
THE TUTU CHAIRS:
The easiest way to dress up your chairs! I simply took a regular tutu and stretched it over the backside of the chair! I added the black bows to the plain pink tutus to complement the colors of the table. EASY!
GIRLFRIEND TIP: If you are like me, I CANNOT tie ribbon to get those PERFECT looking bows! So, to get that pro look, I purchase pre-tied bows! Well worth the extra expense! They come either on clips or plain. The plain ones I use double-sided tape to adhere them to decor or safety pins when used on clothing items.
I hope these tips inspire you to create a “Girly Circus!” party of your own. To give it that finished touch, don’t forget to purchase a personalized printables package available in our shop starting October 1st!
Till next time!
