Hey party peeps!
It’s Day 4 of Doodle Week and today’s post I will feature some Doodle Art Party Activities including the popular Doodle Wall I used at my Doodle Party! Thinking of hosting your own Doodle Party this year? Check out all these fun activities you can do while keeping your budget in check!
THE DOODLE WALL!
This is such a HIT with kids! They love to doodle on things and when they can do it on the wall and not get in trouble…well, that’s just a total score for them and you look like the coolest party host ever!
HOW DID SHE DO THAT?
Step 1: Purchase 3 white foam core poster boards
You can get these at your local Target, Staples or office supply store. They are inexpensive….about $1-$2 each.
Step 2: Place the poster boards side by side against the wall
Place a two 4′ skinny tables against any wall and then lean the poster boards on the top of the table and against the wall (as seen in my photo). The tables are skinny enough that the kids can still reach the boards to draw on.
TIP: If you have a wall big enough and want to adhere the poster boards on your wall, I use 3M command strips whenever I adhere anything to my walls. They hold well and remove cleanly from the wall.
Step 3: Put buckets of WASHABLE markers on the table
I know, I know…washable markers are a must! Even older kids manage to get marker on their hands and the washable ones wash off great and come out of clothes…just in case 😉
That’s it! Now sit back and watch them do their thing! I have the kids work on this as they arrive to the party so that their doodle masterpiece can be on display throughout the party and you have great custom decor!
DOODLE T-SHIRTS!
This is such a cool activity! The kids LOVE doing this and wanted to put them on right after they were done 😉 This would provide for cool photos with all your guests in Doodle T’s!
HOW DID SHE DO THAT?
Step 1: Purchase one plain t-shirt for each guest
The kids can either bring their own plain tshirt with them to the party or you can provide the tshirts for them. I totally scored and picked up these t-shirts in Michaels when they were running a 4 for $10 sale which they do often…so keep an eye out!
Step 2: Put out fabric markers
You can buy these at any craft store. Oriental Trading even carries them.
TIP: I purchased mine from Michaels and used a 40% off coupon on them.
Step 3: Give each guest a piece of cardboard to place between the shirt
This is key! The markers will bleed to the backside of the shirt if you don’t put a piece of cardboard inside the shirt to keep the back covered. It also provides a flat stiff surface for the kids to make drawing on the shirt easier.
That’s it!
DOODLE SIDEWALKS!
This activity is super fun and inexpensive. Give the kids some sidewalk chalk and let them outside to doodle up the sidewalks in your yard. Don’t worry…the chalk comes off easily when sprayed down with a hose 😉
