Today I’m sharing with you how I made those FABULOUS Custom Monogrammed Denim Favor Bags personalized for each guest! This is an inexpensive way to bring a designer, high-end look to your party favor bags! I LOVE to use favor bags in my parties that the guests can actually use instead of the paper gift bags. The ones here I used at my daughter, Faith’s “Kitty-licious” birthday party as seen on Hostess With The Mostess. If you missed the full post full of party pics and inspiration…click here.
HOW DID SHE DO THAT?
Believe it or not, this is super easy and very affordable. The key is to start with a plain bag or purse. This one is a denim tote bag from Oriental Trading. The monogram is made with plastic buttons from Michaels that you can customize with our “Kitty-licious” printable favor labels and scrapbook paper.OUR “KITTY-LICIOUS” PRINTABLE COLLECTION IS NOW AVAILABLE IN OUR SHOP HERE.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED!
– Creatology© 2.25″ design your own plastic buttons (Michaels, $3/dozen)
– “Kitty-licious” printable favor monogram labels (Soiree-EventDesignShop.com $20 for 12 available here)
– denim pocket tote bags (Oriental Trading $16/dozen available here)
– 2.25″ fancy sign paper punch (TomKat Studio Shop available here)
– 2.25″ circle paper punch (TomKat Studio Shop available here)
– 1 sheet of cheetah print 12×12 scrapbook paper (Michaels, 59¢ each)
HERE’S HOW YOU DO IT!
Step 1: print on label paper and punch out each 12 printable monogram favor labels using the fancy sign paper punch
Step 2: punch out 12 circles from the cheetah scrapbook paper using the circle punch
Step 3: carefully remove the front side of each of the buttons and place a cheetah print circle inside each one then put the tops of the buttons back on
Step 4: peel the monogram labels from the label paper backing and stick it to the outside front of each button (centering them in the middle)
Step 5: Pin each button to the pocket on the front of each of the denim bags
That’s it! A really easy way to customize your favor bags and the girls LOVE IT! Embroidered monogram denim bags would cost a fortune to have custom made, so this is a great affordable “Look for Less” solution. Gotta love that!
GIRLFRIEND TIP: You can use this technique for any party theme. Just use coordinating scrapbook paper and a different printable collection. You can also use this technique to customize any type of fabric tote bag.
FINISHING TOUCH…DISPLAY ON A FAVOR BAR!
I love to display everything! It adds an extra chance to add decor to your party space and lets your guests fill their own bags. I use free-standing shepard’s hooks to display my tote bags. It adds a bit of height to the favor bar and looks great!
GIRLFRIEND TIP: Make sure when you setup a favor bar that you have one of each favor for each guest so they can fill their bags easy and with no drama.
