Just Sayin’: A look into my hectic week!

Hey party peeps!

Last week, I got so many of you lovin’ my Friday look into my hectic week, that I’ve decided that Fridays is going to be my day on the blog to give you a glimpse into my life and to just talk about whatever is going on with me or whatever HOT TOPIC we can talk about.

WHAT’S NEW ON THE HOMEFRONT
This week has been CRAZY!  LOTS of late nights this week to get projects done. If you’ve been following me on Facebook and Instagram you have seen me documenting my 1 1/2 year old’s shenanigans in a series I affectionately call “Little Man Strikes Again!”. He has decided that he will now use his highchair, our bar stools and pretty much anything he can stand up on to open up an entirely new world for him.  I’ve found him on top of the kitchen counters just helping himself to the sugar in the sugar bowl and the candy I had stashed in that cabinet, trying to go OVER the deck gate (seriously!) and enjoying the taste of coffee from the coffee cup on my desk full of now room temperature coffee because I swear I have to reheat my one cup of coffee all day!

So, needless to say, with my 1 1/2 year old’s adventures and all 4 kids at home (when does school start again?) mama hasn’t gotten much work done during the day.  So, I’ve embraced the joys of nighttime working.  I happen to LOVE working at night…it’s quiet…noone is bothering you and frankly I don’t get interrupted every five minutes with breakfast, lunch, potty breaks, park trips…etc…etc…etc.

We are gearing up in our household to go on vacation and that needs it’s own TO DO LIST!  So, needless to say I am running on fumes this week…thank you LORD for a supportive husband, coffee, Comcast On-Demand and Yo Gabba Gabba!

WHAT’S NEW IN MY WORLD OF PARTY PLANNING
I turned in my next Trend Alert blog post for Hostess With The Mostess that included styling a super cute theme and working with one of my all-time favorite vendors, Neveah’s Baby Couture Boutique.  You MUST check out the post on Monday and let me know what you think. This week was a busy one lining up vendors to take part in lots of upcoming styled shoots for HWTM, Carousel Magazine and Bird’s Party Magazine.  In the magazine world, you have to shoot and turn in your holiday shoots way earlier than the actual holiday, so I will be shooting my Halloween shoot in August and my Christmas shoot in September!  My kids always think this is so WEIRD yet they LOVE IT when I pull out all my Christmas props…they know Christmas is coming soon!  Thank goodness I have an entire inventory full of holiday props and supplies!  Where would you get a Christmas stocking in September?

OHHH…forgot some more exciting news!  I will now be an ongoing contributor to Carousel Magazine!  The premiere issue comes out the end of August!  Be sure to like the magazine’s Facebook page so you can keep up to date of when it releases and get a first-look at my new Halloween shoot…it’s super cute and includes some of my favorite vendors Cupcake Wishes & Birthday Dreams, JP Alexander and Shawna Brockmeier Designs.

WHAT’S NEW IN MY WORLD OF GRAPHIC DESIGN
This week I designed a Branding Toolkit for Neveah’s Baby Couture Boutique including logo design, new Facebook cover photo design and marketing materials and apparel tags.  Jessica is a sweetheart to work with.  You’ve seen her work featured in last year’s Halloween “Bitten” shoot where she custom designed all those fabulous couture accessories and all the custom outfits and accessories for my “Girly Circus” shoot.  You can check out both styled shoots here:

I also worked on a new postcard design for Petits Plaisirs Chocolata Treats—a sweets table designer in Canada.  She already had a logo for her company that she liked, so I simply created her a simple eye-catching postcard design that she can use when marketing her business.

I also finished up designing a “Sprinkles & Scoops” printable collection for Breyer’s Ice Cream brand ambassador, Suzanne Olvey of Fanciful Events.  This was so much fun to work on and Suzanne is a sweetheart!  The collection is exclusive to her Breyer’s party shoot, HOWEVER I will be revamping it a bit to make the “Sprinkles & Scoops” collection available in our shop in September. Check out this sneak peek of one of the table signs.

My graphic design plate was FULL this week!  I finished up an invitation and flyer for Farmworker Justice‘s upcoming Wine & Jazz reception and a full page ad for the Hispanic Heritage Awards for Latino Magazine.  AND… the logo designs I did for a certain Real Housewife of Atlanta….were APPROVED!  So, now I can spill the beans.  I will be working ongoing with Cynthia Bailey‘s new product lines including graphic design and product styling and I am SUPER EXCITED!  Wait until you see the products…they are AMAZING! Can’t wait to share more…right now lots is still hush-hush.

WHAT’S NEW IN MY SHOP
Last but certaintly not least…I’m still working on finishing my “Girlfriend’s Party Planner”! THE BEST planner specifically for party planners full of all the things we actually need and use! FINALLY…an organizing tool created by a party planner for a party planner! RELEASING IN MY SHOP SEPT. 1ST!

Top sellers in the shop this week: “Sewer” and “Let’s ROCK!” There are a lot of rock star and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle parties going on this month!

Whew!  I’m exhausted just writing all that I’ve been up to this week!  What kinds of stuff have you guys been up to?
