Hey party peeps! This week on my Trend Alert series over on Hostess With The Mostess, I showcased the trend of boy themed parties getting a girly twist! Themes that are traditionally thought of for boys are getting some serious girly makeovers lately – from girly superhero to girly monster parties! Here, I styled a Girly Space themed party featuring the cutest Novi Star alien dolls and my newest “Starstruck” printable collection (now available in my shop) featuring custom designed girly spaceships and lots of bling!
Girly Space Candy Table
Putting a girly spin on a traditionally boy party theme is so much fun! Usually there isn’t much available in retail stores due to the theme being so unique, so it opens up a great opportunity to create fabulous custom party decor that matches your party’s theme and color palette exactly. Designing a candy table for me, starts with the backdrop and linen. This techno style vinyl backdrop from Bubblegum Backdrops set the scene perfectly! I designed my own set of four girly spaceships and Starstruck logo for the printable collection and had Ten23 Designs duplicate them in wood cutouts that I spray painted silver and embellished with rhinestones. How fabulous do they look perched high on top of these tower vases looking like they are ready for takeoff!
Bling and sparkle = girly! So, I went all out and included fabulous sparkly sequin linens from Candy Crush Shop, sequin runners from Koyal Wholesale, bling Sparkle Sticks from Made By A Princess and bling candy scoops and cupcake stand from Talia’s Creative Printing. The candy even had some sparkle and sheen! I used color coordinated metallic foil wrapped chocolate balls, sparkly rock candy and custom labeled cotton candy favors from my shop (available here). My absolute favorite part were the custom fondant toppers from Fancy Cakes! She created a topper for each of the Novi Star’s pet animals! Casey’s Confections even created custom iced cookies for each of my girly spaceships!
Girly Space Beauty Bar
In almost all of my parties, I love to encourage imaginative play amongst the guests by setting up a dress up area where the girls can dress up in themed costumes and accessories to really get into character with the theme. This custom designed dress by Nevaeh’s Baby Couture matched my daughter Riley’s favorite Novi Star doll and created custom accessories for each of the guests to wear. Titi’s Tutu’s created these awesome tulle alien headpieces for each of the guests to take home! So cute!
Girly Space Dining Table
Creating a girly space dining table started with this silver sequin table linen and metallic blue charger plates from Koyal Wholesale that I topped with my “Starstruck” plate printables which gives the table such a custom look and when paired with personalized place card printables, guests finding their seats is super easy and drama free. To further customize each placesetting I included a cupcake that was topped with a different 3D fondant spaceship that Sugar High created to match my girly spaceships.

I really like the colors. This could even be updated for older girls with a space themed movie party instead of dress up. My favorite part, those cups of candy because of the colors and the little alien toys on top are adorable.
