Hey party peeps! Well, like many parents out there, I’m sure you took your kids to see the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, right? I did too. My hubby and I ventured out to take our kids to see it and what an epic FAIL for us. First of all, the movie was NOT for young kids. Both my 2 1/2 year old and 6 year old were not interested. They were bored and ended up leaving the theatre 20 minutes into the movie. My 11 year old and hubby, however, LOVED it! So, clearly the movie is for an older child and adults.
HOWEVER, Mommy (me) recovered quite nicely! The Nickelodeon Universe in The Mall of America here in Minneapolis has this AWESOME Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles attraction where the actual turtles in full costume make an appearance in an elaborately decorated set and take photos and hang out with your kids. OMG…my son was so excited! He didn’t exactly know how to take them at first and was scared the first time through the line so we took him through again and the 2nd time was a charm! He was giving Michelangelo and Leonard0 (his favorite) high fives and everything! You can purchase the photos when you’re done or use your own camera to take photos.
Your older kids will love this too as included in the Nickelodeon Universe area right in front of the TMNT character photo set is a FUN Ninja Turtle ride called Shell Shock. This ride is super fun but for your older kids as there is a height requirement. BUT my little one was not bothered at all as my older kids went to ride that ride while he hung out with the Ninja Turtles! There is also a Nickelodeon store that is full of TMNT toys…some that are only available there. WIN-WIN!

Oh my goodness – this looks like so much fun! I absolutely love the Mall of America and I look forward to taking my son there some day. It’s 12 hour drive from where I live but it’s well worth the trip!

That was super cool! my 15 yr old would have still enjoyed that. I wish I was their. We have the original Ninja Turtles dolls from years ago. I am planning a trip their for sure.

In May i visited MN and was so close to the Mall of America! I wanted to go but couldnt fit it into my schedule!
