Happy Holidays party peeps! Christmas Eve is tomorrow! Are you looking for a last minute fun activity to do with your family on Christmas Day? I’ve got you covered with my Gingerbread House Decorating Party! This is a tradition in my house for Christmas Day. My kids and my nephews all get together before dinner and decorate Gingerbread Houses. It’s so much fun and the kids really get into it. This year we are going to be making a contest out of it which should add to the excitement! Be sure to Follow Me On Instagram where I put up this year’s houses where you can vote for your favorite. The house with the most votes will win $50!!! OH YEAH….I can see this year the competition will be fierce! I have a feeling the parents will be getting in on this one! Enjoy the pics of all the fun we had last year…there was lots of goofing off, lots of eating the candy BEFORE it got on the gingerbread houses and even my daughter Riley taking a bite out of hers when she was done! PRICELESS memories!
HOW DID SHE DO THAT?
First of all, who’s got time to make all those gingerbread houses, right? NOT ME! I started this tradition last year when I was in Target’s bakery section and saw these pre-made gingerbread houses complete with pre-made icing already in a piping bag…ALL READY TO USE! I’m pretty sure I heard angels singing! All I had to do was buy the candy to decorate them??!! THAT’S what I call EASY! I picked up four of them…one for each of the kids and headed over to the candy aisle to pickup a few bags of candy.
When the guests arrived, they all got one gingerbread house on a large round plastic platter filled with Jet-Puffed Marshmallows to resemble snow! Each guest also got a tray full of assorted candy and marshmallows. They also had their choice of colored icings, gels and sprinkles to let their imaginations go wild! And wild they did! Check out that Monster House!
NOW, LET’S HAVE FUN DECORATING!!!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYBODY!
Tonya

I’ve never tried decorating a gingerbread house with candies. It looked easy and simple to do but I’m sure there’s lot of creativity and thinking skills required as well to create such a colorful and wonderful house like that! 🙂

those gingerbread houses sure do bring back memories. I remember when we lived in Atlanta my mom took my sister and I to some place where we made a really elaborate one together. and then we took it home and I would nibble away at the parts like a mouse for weeks, sneaking the candy bits. I’m sorry I never did this with my own children.
