Hey party peeps! I’ve been super busy these past few weeks redecorating my house. I’ve affectionately called it, “Project Home Redecorate”. It all started when we purchased our home a few months ago and the homeowner bug just bit…and BIT HARD! I have all these ideas of what to do and knew one of the first things I wanted to do was paint the ENTIRE house! So, we did. Next I really wanted to create an oasis in our master bathroom with touches of sparkle and glam. Join me as I show you How to Glam up your Bathroom with Accessories using some stylish and affordable accessories I found at Target.
GIRLFRIEND TIP: Here’s my tip AGAIN! I can’t tell you how important this one is! Whenever I’m redecorating a space, I always snap a photo of the space with my cell phone so that I can refer back to it while I’m in the store shopping. It really helps you visualize the area you’re decorating while you’re in the store.
ADD A PATTERN FOR TEXTURE!
Accessorizing a room is one of my favorite things to do. It’s like putting the finishing touch on a fabulous painting! For my bathroom I already had a gray and white rug with a gorgeous pattern on it that I love so I used it as the inspiration for the rest of the design plan. This dictated the colors and pattern that I would use. While shopping in Target I found these hand towels with the same pattern as the rug and knew right away these would be perfect to bring the pattern into the room and complement the rug that was already there. They are also reversible so I can simply turn them around whenever I want a subtle different look.
ADD A POP OF COLOR!
To create that cozy modern feel I was going for, the room was painted in a taupe that really complemented the crisp white countertops and dark cabinets. It gives the room a monochromatic modern look. To add in a pop of color, I found these amazing terrariums at Target and displayed them in the windowsill of the most amazing view from the bathroom window. It really helps to bring the vibrant colors found outside in to the room itself.
GIRLFRIEND TIP: I don’t really have a green thumb…in fact…it may not be green AT ALL…so I went with terrariums of faux plants (don’t judge) so that they would always stay looking great and I wouldn’t run the risk of the plants dying.
ADD SPARKLE AND GLAM!
To add sparkle, we swapped out the light fixtures for these gorgeous sparkly ones, which was so easy to do and makes such a difference in the room. I also wanted to keep the countertop modern and monochromatic so I kept the bathroom dispensers and dishes bright white with an accent of shiny silver that adds just the right amount of sparkle and shine to the counter. To really bring it over the top, I filled a tall glass apothecary jar with mirror balls and displayed it as a centerpiece to the countertop. I know…I know…Centerpiece…in the bathroom?! Okay, YES…that’s the party planner in me! Isn’t it gorgeous?
ADD A PERSONAL TOUCH!
I love adding wall decor to a bathroom and here I wanted the wall art to be personal. The bathroom is the first place we go to in the morning and really wanted to surround myself with inspiration as I start each day so I decided to go with inspiration quotes for wall decor instead of buying a painting or other wall art. To do this I purchased two frames from Target, typed out two of my favorite quotes on my computer and printed them on my home printer. The great thing about using frames is that you can switch out the photos for anything you want–whenever you want–as opposed to buying a painting or canvas wall art that you would have to replace completely if you wanted to change.
GIRLFRIEND TIP: This idea would also be great for displaying photos that are personal to you. Put a few photos you love on your phone and take them to Target Photo to get them printed in an hour! If you like the inspirational quotes idea, you don’t have to be a graphic designer like me either to create amazing wall art. Simply type your favorite saying or quote into a word processing document centered on the page and print it! That’s it! For less than $1 (the cost of a printed photo or printed piece of paper) you can change out the quote or swap a new photo whenever you want.
What accessories do you use to decorate your bathroom?

WOW. I don’t know a lot about home design but I do real estate photography and most bathrooms are shabbier than this and I don’t even bother to give the proofs to clients. If I photographed this house, I would be all about showcasing the bathroom!
