Hey party peeps! Last week Ever After High’s “Way Too Wonderland” season debuted on Netflix and Riley has been waiting with excited anticipation! We celebrated the premiere with an Ever After High Party — Way Too Wonderland! AND…”OH MY FAIRY GODMOTHER”…we are also giving away to one lucky winner, the entire collection of 6 Ever After High Way Too Wonderland dolls & lots of the amazing goodies you see in this post! Scroll down to the end of the post to ENTER TO WIN!
HOW DID SHE DO THAT?
The “Way Too Wonderland” series is a continuation of the “Spring Unsprung” movie. This time, the series is broken up into 4 different episodes…each approximately 20 minutes long…so be sure to factor that in when you plan the time for your party. To make it fun for the kids at the party I decided to include an activity in between each episode and have my older daughter dress up and host the party as the movie’s narrator and she also helped guide the girls through each activity of the party! The main characters— Lizzie Hearts, Raven Queen, Apple White, Briar Beauty, Madeline Hatter and Kitty Cheshire in this series, travel to Wonderland to try to stop a plot against Lizzie’s mother, The Queen of Hearts, find the Storybook of Legends that landed in Wonderland at the end of Spring Unsprung and try to break the Evil Queen’s curse that separates Wonderland from Ever After. After watching the episodes I had plenty of ideas on what activities and decor I would use for the party.
SET THE SCENE — Ever After High Party – Way Too Wonderland!
The movie is set in the topsy turvy world of Wonderland which is full of bright colors, oversized flowers and fun patterns. For the party’s decor I included lots of bright colors, flowers and a checkerboard harlequin pattern. I used the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party as inspiration for the kid’s Tea Time table, included custom Wonderland themed sweets and used my new Wonderland Printable Collection to add that personalized touch including plates, drink wraps, chair scrolls, cupcake toppers, table signs and our signature Lolli-tag decor sticks! (full printable collection available here)
GIRLFRIEND TIP: Riley wanted to invite 2 of her friends over to watch the movie so I setup the kids in her room to watch the movie. This way I didn’t have to do too much decorating since her room was already decorated and had plenty of seating to watch the movie. All I did was add a folding table for the dress up items.
Check out these ideas for throwing an Ever After High Wonderland party for your kids!
Wonderland Dress Up!
In the first episode of the movie, the girls travel to Wonderland through a whirlwind magical hole that magically transformed their clothes into fabulous Wonderland outfits. Once the first episode was over, I had the girls transform into their Wonderland outfits complete with bright patterned tutus, leg warmers and top hat headbands that matched each of the characters’ outfits. How cute is that!
After the girls put on their outfits, I played the 2nd episode where the characters had to graduate from Wonderland High School by completing a series of classes for one day. To make it even more fun for the girls, I had them complete an assignment of designing their own t-shirts to complete their Wonderland outfits.
GIRLFRIEND TIP: Creating custom t-shirts for your guests is easy with my Wonderland T-shirt Iron On printable. You provide your guests’ names and you get the file all personalized and ready to print. Simply print on iron-on transfer paper and iron on to plain tshirts. Place fabric markers out for the girls to color and design their own shirts! They LOVED this!
Wonderland Tea Time!
After the second episode was over, the characters successfully graduated from Wonderland High and are now on their way to the Queen of Hearts palace for her party which starts at Tea Time. This was the perfect time for the girls to break for their own Wonderland Tea Time at this fabulous table decorated with bright flowers and yummy mini desserts like scones, mini cupcakes and cookies. Riley isn’t a fan of actual tea (not many kids are) so instead I served “Wonderland Water” (pink lemonade). The girls enjoyed their tea party sweets and then returned to Riley’s room for part 3!
GIRLFRIEND TIP: Wrap each mini mason jar with printable drink wraps personalized with each guest’s name so that they all can keep track of their drinks. The printable chair scrolls also act as place cards so that the girls could find their seat at the table. The girls were so excited to look for and find their names on each chair and cup! And the best part….no arguing over who sits where! Gotta love that!
The Queen of Hearts Party Presents!
In part 3 of the movie, the characters attend the Queen of Hearts party where all the guests brought presents for the Queen’s birthday. Inspired by this, Riley gave each of her guests a Way Too Wonderland doll and they all played together with the dolls as they watched the 3rd episode.
GIRLFRIEND TIP: Including some free time play at any party is essential. It gives the kids time to use their imaginations and re-enact scenes from the movie as they’re watching it. Not all of the party activities have to be managed…sometimes the kids just want to play!
Find The Storybook of Legends!
Kitty Cheshire finds out from her mom, the Cheshire Cat that the Storybook of Legends is in the Queen of Hearts’ present room which is FULL of presents! How will they ever find it! Inspired by this part of the movie, I sent the girls on a scavenger hunt to find their own Ever After Storybook. Scavenger hunts are always a big hit at parties. The twist on this one was that there was a Storybook for each of them so they all had to find their own in only 5 minutes. The books were journals the girls could take home to write their own Ever After stories.
GIRLFRIEND TIP: Journals are one of my go-to party favors and super easy to personalize. They are great on a budget as most stores have them in their dollar bins year-round. To make them extra special, I attach a printable label personalized with each guest’s name on it. An affordable way to have personalized party favors!
Way Too Wonderland Sweets Bar!
At the end of the movie, the girls were all given these cute Wonderland Favor Boxes to fill with yummy desserts and candy from the Way Too Wonderland Sweets Bar to take home. I used the Way Too Wonderland dolls to decorate each section of the table like Briar Beauty’s Cookie Patch, Kitty Cheshire’s Topsy Turvy Cupcakes and Lizzie Heart’s Mini Donut Chess Game featuring my printable chess board!
GIRLFRIEND TIP: Be sure to have small plastic bags on hand to separate the unpackaged desserts before putting them in the favor boxes. I also have individual cupcake boxes on hand so guest’s can transport the cupcakes home easily.

My twin girls are completely in love with Ever after high and Disney anything. From my grandmother to my mother to me and now my daughters. When Ever after high came out , my twins fell in love and kept expanding their collection to now include the daughters of their favorite Disney characters. This year we will be throwing them a Ever After Glow party and I thank you so much for the great ideas. I started planning back in September, because throwing a party for multiples is not easy on the pockets. and I want to be able to give them a great experience. They haven’t had a birthday party since they were 9 yrs old and I’m super excited. Thanks again and Many blessings.
Tonya says
AWESOME! You’ll have to send me some pics of their party.
