Hey party peeps! ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!!! I am a huge football fan and absolutely love having friends and family over during the football season to watch the games. As the host of the Game Day parties, though, I want to have fun and actually get to watch the games and not be stressed out making food and running around like crazy! So, today I’m going to show you How to Setup a Football Game Day Snack Bar! and stay stress free!
HOW DID SHE DO THAT?
STEP 1: Shop For Your Game Day Food Ahead of Time!
Whatever you do, do NOT try to go shopping on the same day as your party. Trust me, it never ends well. I’ve tried it and I found myself such a ball of nerves on party day whenever I have to run out somewhere on the day of a party I’m hosting. There just never seems to be enough time when I get back before guests arrive and I find myself rushing around trying to get everything done. AND…if the store you’re shopping in doesn’t have everything I need, then I’m more stressed having to run around to multiple stores. NOT FUN! Take my advice here and shop a few days ahead of time like I did. I grabbed everything I needed from Walmart who has a full grocery store so I was able to get all the game day snacks I needed.
Step 2: Setup Your Table The Day Before!
This is a tip that I use for almost any party I host at my home. I setup my table the day before my party so it’s all ready to go. This also gives me plenty of time to run out to grab any additional serveware or decor if I need it. I love these reusable plastic containers with lids for guests to use instead of plates. The are big enough to hold snacks and guests can take leftover snacks home after the game. Double duty—gotta love that!
GIRLFRIEND TIP: When setting up your table keep in mind the types of snacks you will be serving and how you’ll be displaying them so you can have appropriate containers that will fit on your table like these rectangle clear plastic trays I found in Walmart’s party section are a staple item on my Game Day tables as they fit perfectly with this Football Field Prop Set by Hello My Sweet that includes set of goal posts, bleacher seat stands, a football field table cover and scoreboard. How fabulous are these!
STEP 3: Serve Easy-To-Make & Easy-To-Eat Snacks!
When choosing my game day menu I always serve foods that require one or two steps to make…just pop them in the oven and I’m done! PLUS…the smell from pizza cooking in the oven is always such a welcoming touch to guests when they arrive. I also choose snacks that are easy to eat and can be served room temperature. I usually always serve Red Baron® Classic Crust 4 Cheese Pizza and Red Baron® Classic Pepperoni Pizza cut into squares so they are more manageable to eat. Click here to check out the Red Baron line of pizzas and recipe ideas. My kids and hubby love Red Baron pizza and me? Well, not only are they yummy but after a long day at work or for a party like this, they are easy to make so I can actually relax for a few minutes before the party starts. AND, you can never go wrong with crowd-pleasing pizza— from meat lovers to vegetarians, there is a pizza for everyone’s tastes.
GIRLFRIEND TIP: A friend of mine told me about these Pagoda Egg Rolls and Pot Stickers and thought I’d give them a try for this. Boy, were they good. The best thing is that they are finger foods and require only one step prep! The perfect thing to keep stress to a minimum on party day.
STEP 4: Offer Guests a DIY Drink Cup with Personalized Labels!
On Game Day friends and family just show up so I like to have these DIY personalized labels on hand for guests to write their names on so they can keep track of their own drinks. The labels I use are a removable vinyl so you can simply peel them off and use the cups again for the next party.
GIRLFRIEND TIP: For an extra special touch, pick up some insulated cups with lids to keep drinks from spilling and these reusable ice cubes that you can freeze again and again. These are great as they keep your drink cold without melting into your drink and diluting the flavor.
STEP 5: End On A Sweet Note!
I love offering sweet and savory snacks on Game Day. I for one, always crave something sweet after eating savory snacks so during the game I pull out a few Edwards Pies and offer my guests a slice. They are no prep at all! Simply remember to thaw them in your fridge the day before and remove from the fridge on Game Day when you’re ready to serve it.
GIRLFRIEND TIP: Pie just makes people happy and if you host Football Game Day parties at your house, you know that it can become quite an emotional time for the losers. But when you serve pie…everyone seems to perk up! Win-Win!
Talk about ending on a sweet note! Check out this Tailgate At Your Place Sweepstakes where you can win instantly up to a $100 Visa Gift Card or 5 Grand Prize Winners will win a check for $8,000, a $2,000 shopping spree at an Electronics Store and 6 months of FREE PIZZA for the football season!
