Hey party peeps! “HALLOWEEN IS NOT JUST FOR US KIDS! is what my daughter Riley told me this year when I was out buying bags of Trick-or-Treat candy. When I asked her what she meant, she said it wasn’t fair that kids get to have all the fun and candy on Halloween and Deizel (our 1 year old Cane Corso dog) can’t have any. So, right then and there, we decided to do something special for Deizel. If you have a dog, why not MAKE A HALLOWEEN BOO BASKET FOR YOUR DOG like we did.
Riley said we should call his basket a “Toy-or-Treat” basket since it’s full of toys and treats! This girl!
MAKE A HALLOWEEN BOO BASKET FOR YOUR DOG!
Since we were already in Target, we decided to take a trip to the dog treat aisle and pick him up a few bags of dog treats. We train Deizel all the time and love finding new treats to give him while training him. We decided on a few bags of Purina Beyond White Meat Chicken Cutlets Natural Dog Snacks and a bag of the Jerky Strips too. They were on sale in my Target Cartwheel app for 10% off the Purina Beyond Dog Snacks (from 10/4-10/31) so we grabbed two bags! Then we headed to the dog toys’ section. Target had an end cap of Halloween themed toys! PERFECT! One of my son’s favorite things to do with Deizel is play fetch, so he immediately grabbed the Dracula ball. Riley and Faith picked out a rubber fetch stick and a chew bone. We already had this cool ghost Trick-or-Treat basket from last year that they filled with all Diezel’s new treats and toys.
The kids assembled the basket and gave it to Deizel this past weekend. He was super excited to get it and enjoyed his yummy new treats and played for hours with his new toys! It was fun for the kids who worked with Deizel on “Sit” and “Lay Down” commands. Denzel was MORE THAN WILLING to do ANYTHING they asked once he got a whiff of those yummy treats! Did I mention they are grain free, made in the USA and chicken is the #1 ingredient! He loved them! HAPPY HALLOWEEN WEEK EVERYONE!

We do not celebrate Halloween. However, I like the idea of the family making special gift items for our beloved family pets. It is a nice way of showing care and concern for them.
What a cute idea! Your dog looks so happy.
I like the idea of including the pets. We used to include ours when I was growing up too. 🙂

What a cute idea… especially putting it together for the kids. I could see myself doing that with my nieces and we could assemble it for their dog. Thanks for the idea. 🙂
I honestly don’t really get into Halloween that much, but that’s a wonderful idea. Looks like your dog really liked it! 🙂
I wish my rottie hadn’t passed away, she was a big ole goofball and she would have LOVED this!

Great pictures! Why should only the kids have fun! Dogs don’t see themselves as a dog they think their kids too! At least ours always have!
Our Bella would really enjoy that. That’s a great way to get the pets in the Halloween spirit.
This Boo basket is perfect! This post made me miss our dog..
