Hey party peeps! The holidays are in full swing and I’m so excited to share with you my “HAPPY HOWLIDAYS” MONSTER HIGH PARTY. If you’re looking for a new twist on a Monster High party…this is it!
HOW DID SHE DO THAT?
When I sat down with sketch pad in hand to design this party, I knew that I wanted to create a winter wonderland environment for my daughter’s favorite ghoulfriends from Monster High. One of the things on the TOP of her Christmas list is the Monster High Deadluxe High School playset. Remember I styled that in my last “Ghouls Rule” party? You can see it here if you missed it. Well, that is safely tucked away until Christmas. The next thing on her list are the new Monster High Frightfully Tall dolls. They are one of this year’s hottest toys so when asked to design a holiday-themed Monster High party I decided to give Riley these dolls early and surprised her with them in this party shoot. They are amazing. They stand 17″ tall and come with their own stand. Riley can’t wait to get her hands on her favorite Frightfully Tall Ghouls—Draculaura, Clawdeen Wolf and Frankie Stein! BE SURE TO SCROLL DOWN TO THE END OF THIS POST TO ENTER TO WIN SOME OF THE HOTTEST TOYS OF THE SEASON—THE MONSTER HIGH DEADLUXE HIGH SCHOOL AND ALL THREE OF THE FRIGHTFULLY TALL GHOUL DOLLS!
SET THE SCENE FOR A MONSTER HIGH “HAPPY HOWLIDAYS” WINTER WONDERLAND!
To create a winter wonderland environment, I started with a bright white petal taffeta table linen and backdrop to give the feeling of snow falling. Then I set out to find the perfect Christmas Tree as a centerpiece. I didn’t want a traditional one and it had to have some ghoul glam, of course! I totally scored when I found this White Blossom LED Tree from ShopWildThings.com. It was perfect! It had just the perfect blend of sparkle from the LED lights and ghoulish glam with the dark wire tree branches. This clawesome wreath by Fizzy Party is perfect to hang on the front door to greet your guests as they arrive.
GIRLFRIEND TIP: To make sure that my backdrop would match my table linen exactly, I just used a square size of the same linen and draped it over my backdrop stand. Be sure to secure it to the top rod of the backdrop stand with clear clips OR you can sew a top rod pocket into your linen and simply slide it on to the stand’s top rod.
LET’S GET COZY!
Setting the scene for my parties always includes the guests getting into themed costumes and accessories. Baby, it’s COLD outside so invite your guests to get cozy at your Monster High winter wonderland party by giving them furry slippers and warm knit hats to go with their Monster High outfits. These all double as take-home favors of course!
SERVE WINTER WHITE DESSERTS MIXED IN WITH MONSTER HIGH CUSTOM TREATS!
Since it is a winter wonderland theme, I opted for all white OREOS, cake pops and chocolate lollipops by my friend Sparkling Sweets Boutique, white meringue kisses by Petits Plaisirs Chocolata Treats and candy from Candy Warehouse. I also added one of my favorite new coconut flavored Jelly Belly jelly beans. For a pop of color, I added a set of custom iced cookies by Auntie Bea’s Bakery!
GIRLFRIEND TIP: Be sure to put out candy scoops and tongs that are appropriately sized for the candy containers you are using. These rhinestone candy scoops and tongs by Lavish Parties & Prints by Talia were perfect and you can never go wrong with a little bling! Even ghoulfriends love some bling!
MONSTER HIGH GIFT TABLE FOR ACTIVITIES!
It is the holiday season, so what better activity than to decorate these fabulous shiny mini tinsel trees! In PINK of course! These Monster High decorations I found at Walmart so I grabbed a few to give to each guest. This is their only ornament on their own tree. The rest of the ornaments are clear plastic ornaments that each guest will decorate at the party with stickers, markers and embellishments found in that super cute Monster High art kit that rolls up like a purse. Gotta love that! Another fun activity is decorating Monster High scrapbooks. Fangtastic fun for Monster High fans!
GIRLFRIEND TIP: The scrapbook kits and the art supply rolls I found on clearance at Walmart after the back to school season. Yup..you can totally score on themed items like journals, art supplies, notebooks and more at the back-to-school clearance sales! All of which make perfect party favors or do double-duty as BOTH a party favor AND party activity!
I hope you found some ideas here for hosting your own Monster High winter wonderland themed party.
