Hey party peeps! Have you seen the NEW Monster High movie, “Great Scarrier Reef”? As you all know, my daughter, Riley is a huge Monster High fan and when she turned 8 last week on the day the new Monster High movie came out, she knew right away that she wanted a Monster High Great Scarrier Reef birthday party! Check out today’s post for lots of Monster High Party Ideas featuring Great Scarrier Reef.
SET THE SCENE — MONSTER HIGH GREAT SCARRIER REEF!
Designing a party around a movie is easy when you watch the movie first. I was able to see the movie ahead of it’s release and immediately was drawn to how colorful and bright the reef was where most of the movie took place. I wanted to re-create that bright colorful scenery, so I designed this vinyl backdrop of an undersea reef and pulled out my rainbow sequin tablecloth to simulate the brightly colored reef floor and I re-used the Rainbow colored chandelier I had from Riley’s party a few years ago as the perfect centerpiece to hold Posea Reef—the daughter of Poseidon, gardener goddess and guardian of the creatures of the reef. How fabulous does that look! Since Riley’s birthday was on the day the movie came out, we decided to have a movie night party for her birthday which consisted of her and her friends watching the movie, eating popcorn and candy and playing with all the Monster High Great Scarrier Reef dolls that were displayed on the candy table. As a special touch, send each guest home with a copy of the Monster High Great Scarrier Reef movie on DVD.
