Happy Holidays party peeps! Need a quick idea DIY Christmas Wreath idea? Well, today I’m sharing my step-by-step tutorial and supply list to make these modern and chic DIY Black and White Bling Snowflake Christmas Wreath for under $40!
Okay, I have to admit, making my own wreaths has become a bit of an obsession! They are so easy to make and the creativity that you can use in making your own, is such a creative thrill for me. Don’t get me wrong….your girl LOVES to SHOP to find the perfect decor piece! But instead of getting frustrated when I can’t find what I have in mind…there is something invigorating about being able to make EXACTLY what you have in mind easily and affordably by making it yourself!
When decorating my house for Christmas, I like to match my entry/foyer decor to my dining table when hosting a dinner party. Want to see the full dining table post with lots of tips? CLICK HERE. I decorated the table in a modern and chic, black and white color palette. I wanted to include a black and white wreath in my entry’s decor but couldn’t find ANYTHING! So, with a few supplies from Oriental Trading I was able to whip up this DIY Christmas wreath in literally 20 minutes! Oh yeah!
HOW DID SHE DO THAT?
HOW TO MAKE A BLACK AND WHITE SNOWFLAKE DIY CHRISTMAS WREATH
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
• large wreath form with flat edges
• 1 roll of 1 1/2″ black and white striped ribbon
• hot glue
• white chipboard snowflakes
• clear self-adhesive rhinestones
• black and white baker’s twine
• 1/2″ round rhinestone
STEP #1: WRAP YOUR WREATH!
Using 1 1/2″ wide ribbon, fully wrap a large wreath form with the ribbon. Secure the end with hot glue. You will have extra ribbon leftover. Be sure to check out my matching dining table HERE where I show you how to use some of the extra ribbon.
STEP #2: MAKE A WREATH HANGER!
Tie a piece of black and white baker’s twine to the top center of the wreath and then tie a loop on the other end to create a hanger to hang the wreath on a hook.
STEP #3: EMBELLISH SNOWFLAKES WITH RHINESTONES!
Punch out the large snowflake from the chipboard (as shown) and place rhinestone stickers on the points of the snowflakes. Finish with a larger 1/2″ round rhinestone for the center.
STEP #4: SECURE THE SNOWFLAKES TO THE WREATH!
This is where it’s important to make sure you use a flat edged wreath. It makes it easier to lay the snowflakes flat on the wreath. Using hot glue secure the snowflakes to the wreath in the pattern shown.
STEP #5: HANG YOUR FINISHED WREATH!
This DIY Christmas Wreath is meant for indoor use. I hung it on an indoor tabletop shepherd’s hook in my bar cart that I decorated to match my dining table. How fabulous does the wreath look and it matches perfectly!

I love wreaths as decorations as you can use them as the main centre piece or the focus of a room. Problem is they are so expensive! Can’t wait to try and make my own.
