Hey party peeps, Happy National Craft Month! Are you looking for unique first birthday party ideas? If so, check out this DIY Mickey Mouse First Birthday Party Photo Wall featuring 12 photos of your child from their first 12 months. It makes a darling keepsake and a great way to celebrate their first birthday! I made this one to match my Mickey Mouse 1st Birthday Party CLICK HERE TO SEE THE PARTY. You can make this board match any party theme by using colors to match your party’s decorations AND you can hang it in your child’s room after the party.
HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED:
– 4’x3′ canvas
– 12 DIY 6″x6″ unfinished wood frames
– paint
– paint brush
– glue gun
– self-adhesive buttons
– self-adhesive number stickers
– Mickey Mouse 1st Birthday Banner
– 12 photos cut to 4″x4″
MAKE YOUR OWN FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY PHOTO WALL!
STEP 1: Paint all 12 of your frames with light blue acrylic paint including the edges. Let fully dry.
STEP 2: Once the frames are fully dry, remove the backing from numbers 1-12 of the self-adhesive numbers and place one number on the top middle of each frame. I alternated colors for a fun look. The numbers represent the month of your child’s first year.
STEP 3: Add buttons to all four inner corners of the painted frames (as shown). These buttons from Oriental Trading are self-adhesive which makes them super easy to stick on to the frames by removing the backing—no glue needed!
STEP 4: Print 12 of your favorite photos—one 4″x4″ photo of your child from each month of his first year. Get ready for tears! I was teary-eyed when I went back through my son’s photos and relived all the memories over his first year! Place the photos into the frame that matches the month the photo was taken.
STEP 5: Take a piece of denim fabric and pull it taught around the frame and secure the back of the canvas with staples or hot glue. Arrange the frames on the denim wrapped canvas in numerical order and attach the frames to the canvas with hot glue. Remove the “Oh Boy, I’m One” letters, Pluto and Donald Duck cutouts from the Mickey Mouse 1st Birthday Banner and attach them to the top of the denim wrapped canvas with hot glue.
YOU’RE DONE! Display your 1st Birthday Party Photo Board as a backdrop to your Mickey Mouse 1st Birthday Dessert Table! How cute is this Mickey Mouse 1st Birthday Party! CLICK HERE TO SEE THE PARTY.
