Hey party peeps! Remember a few months ago I shared with you this fun contest where Kemps was looking for a new ice cream flavor and asked local ice cream lovers for help? Well, in about three weeks, they received hundreds of entries! My entry was Banana Caramel Crunch (see it HERE).
NOW…it’s time for us all to vote on the top four winning flavors (see them HERE).
– Cherry & Spoon
– You Betcha Berry
– Up North Blend
– Muddy Mississippi
Did I mention that when you vote, you will be entered to win a year’s supply of ice cream? OH YEAH! I decided to make this fun and set up a surprise ice cream tasting for my kids and a few of their friends! After school, we will try all four flavors and each vote for our favorite.
GIRLFRIEND TIP: Since we’ll be tasting all four flavors, I used a small scooper to create a mini scoop of each flavor and served them in mini bowls. Once we have all decided on our favorites, we will enjoy an ice cream cone with our favorite flavor!
LET’S GET THIS KEMPS ICE CREAM TASTING STARTED!
The kids oohed and ahhhed when I took the lids of of each ice cream container. Kemps makes the ice cream look like a work of art before you scoop into it! Gotta love that wow factor!
Cherry & Spoon
Vanilla ice cream, drizzles of chocolate fudge, real cherries and chunks of brownie.
You Betcha Berry
Tahitian vanilla ice cream with a swirl of raspberry, real blueberries, and delicious pound cake.
The kids were particularly excited about this one when we opened it up! I mean, who isn’t excited about ice cream topped with cubes of cake!
Up North Blend
Java ice cream with swirls of salted caramel, shaved chocolate, and bits of brownies.
Muddy Mississippi
Chocolate ice cream with a swirl of fudge, a sprinkle of chocolate toffee and shaved chocolate.
Clearly, there is a chocolate lover among us!
TIME TO VOTE FOR OUR FAVORITES!
To make this fun, I gave each of the kids an ice cream cone to place on the top of their favorite flavor. I counted to three and they all scrambled to place their cones on their favorite.
They all chose a different flavor!!!! We had a TIE! As a special thank you, I sent each of my kid’s friends home with a container of their favorite Kemps ice cream to share with their family.
All of the kids enjoyed a cone of their favorite flavor and the kids were over the moon! A simple Kemps ice cream tasting party with no decorations. Just ice cream and smiles all around!
So, I had to be the tie breaker! No complaints here! So, you want to know which one I chose? WELL…kind of obvious…I am a self-proclaimed coffee lova! Up North Blend was my favorite! That Java ice cream with swirls of salted caramel, shaved chocolate, and bits of brownies ROCKED MY WORLD!

We normally have Kemps ice cream in our freezer year-round and regularly enjoy a scoop for dessert. It’s made right here in the Midwest and comes in traditional flavors like vanilla, chocolate, strawberry AND exclusive flavors like Moose Tracks and Caribou Coffee Java Chunk (one of my faves). If you haven’t tried Kemps ice cream, you should…you’ll thank me.

This is such a tough choice. Ice cream is always good but each of those looked better than the next. I will look for Kemps at the supermarket. The kids were great judges.
OK now I need to try these all what some delicious looking flavours of ice cream I think I would have to start with the cherry one!
All of those flavours look so good! I have a feeling that Up North Blend would be my favourite though.
I immediately gravitate towards Muddy Mississippi, but I’d have to try them all first. 😉

Those kids had the best time while you were working! I’ve never heard of this particular brand of ice cream, but I’ve got to find it. We always keep ice cream in the freezer, and love choosing ones with unique flavor combos!
