LET’S MAKE FARMHOUSE HOLIDAY DECORATIONS WITH THE CRICUT EXPLORE AIR™ 2
Guys…last year I got my very own adult Christmas Tree and decorated it in the farmhouse style. I loved it so much, that this year, I’m going to continue that look in different areas of my house. Come along for the journey as I share my DIY Holiday projects made easy with my Cricut starting with my Stocking Mantel Table!
GIRLFRIEND TIP: No mantel, no problem! I have a mantel in my home, but it has a huge TV above it so I can’t really decorate it. Instead, I have this sofa table that I just love to decorate for each holiday. It really makes a wow-factor statement in my family room. Add some fur stockings and a LED garland light to the front of the table and you’re good to go!
While shopping in Target yesterday, I picked up these amazing farmhouse style wood ornaments, trees, and stars in the Dollar Spot! OH YEAH! They were plain wood and I wanted to make them the star of my Stocking Mantel Table. To jazz them up and make them even more fabulous, I used my Cricut to cut simple one-cut snowflakes, trees, and the word JOY out of White Adhesive Vinyl to take my farmhouse decor from ordinary to EXTRAORDINARY!
Want to see how to do it? Let’s get started!
HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED
– Cricut Explore Air™ 2 machine
– Cricut Adhesive Vinyl – white
– Cricut Transfer Tape
– Cricut Weeder Tool
– Cricut Scraper Tool
– Jumbo wood ornaments, wood Christmas trees, wood stars
– Cricut Design Space Project File
STEP 1 – Log In to Design Space + Load This Project!
Cricut has an online interface called Cricut Design Space™ that walks you through every step of your project. Log in to Cricut Design Space™ and click here to make this Stocking Mantel Table project. Load the vinyl into the Cricut on a light grip mat (the blue one) and follow the on-screen instructions to cut the snowflakes, trees and word JOY out of white Cricut Adhesive Vinyl.
STEP 2 – Unload the Mat & Weed Your Designs!
Once the cutting is complete, Press the LOAD BUTTON to unload the mat from the Cricut. Slowly peel away the adhesive vinyl from the backing. Using the Cricut Weeder Tool, remove the inner parts of the designs so that only the outlines of the graphic remains.
The tree won’t require weeding and the word JOY you will only have to weed the middle snowflake shape, but don’t throw it away! I used it to decorate the front of a silver candle.
STEP 3 – Place Transfer Tape Over Your Images!
Cut a piece of transfer tape big enough to fully cover the JOY and snowflake graphics.
Remove the backing from the transfer tape and lay it down over the graphic and smooth it down firmly with the Cricut Scraper Tool so that the tape adheres to the image completely.
Once it’s fully covered and firmly adhered, begin to peel the graphic off of the backing with the transfer tape. The image will come up with the transfer tape.
STEP 4 – Place Your Images on The Wood Pieces!
Place the transfer tape with the JOY word image on to the center of one of your wood ornaments. Be sure to start at one end and smooth the tape down as you go. Firmly rub the entire image with the scraper tool to firmly adhere the vinyl to your wood ornament. Slowly peel away the transfer tape leaving the foil image on your plate.
Continue step 4 for both of the snowflake graphics.
For the trees, you don’t have to use the transfer tape. I found it easier to just slowly lift the vinyl tree graphic off the backing and place it directly to the middle of the wood star decorations.
You’re all done! How easy was that and the finished pieces….SIMPLY FABULOUS! Now it’s time to add these Farmhouse Christmas Decorations to my Stocking Mantel Table.
DESIGN A STOCKING MANTEL TABLE!
Now it’s time to style my Stocking Mantel Table! I hung all three ornament Farmhouse Christmas Decorations on the wall above my sofa table. These ornaments already have a silver twine hanger so it’s easy to just hang them from a nail or clear 3M Command Hook.
I also placed the two wood stars up on my wall shelves and paired them with a modern ceramic reindeer.
The JOY wood ornament looked awesome as the focal point above a plush white polar bear and twinkling LED crystal trees! Y’all know I love my sparkle!

Using the sofa table instead of the mantel really did work well. The decorations you made with the cricut were super cute!

Your decorations turned out amazing, and I love how you decorate your table like it’s a mantel. We just moved into a new home, and there is no fireplace. I’m really missing my mantel. I might have to get a table like that!
