Hey party peeps! I had the honor to style this super cute party for an amazing tween girl. When I asked her what theme she wanted, she said, “I don’t know but I LOVE unicorns, rainbows AND emojis!” So, what is a party planner to do? You design a RAINBOW UNICORN EMOJI PARTY of course! Check out the party along with Rainbow Unicorn Emoji Party Ideas including DIY party decor and party activities! I will also share with you my signature “Girlfriend Tips” that I hope will help you host your next party with less stress.
SET THE SCENE – RAINBOW UNICORN EMOJI PARTY IDEAS!
The party was to be set up in my client’s basement. I wanted to transform it to look like a girl’s bedroom decorated with a Rainbow Unicorn Emoji theme. Creating a cool space where the guest of honor could chill out with her friends.
GIRLFRIEND TIP: When transforming a room into a themed party space, use jumbo-sized inflatables for more decor bang for your buck! Simply blow them up with an electric air pump and you have affordable oversized decor that really fills and transforms the space. Oriental Trading has a wide variety of affordable party decorations including jumbo-sized inflatable party decor that you can use to really set the tone for the theme of almost any party theme. How amazing is this rainbow inflatable that I used as the dessert table backdrop and several unicorn inflatables that the kids just LOVED!
RAINBOW UNICORN EMOJI PARTY IDEAS – PHOTO BOOTH!
Tweens love their phones and even more love taking pictures with it with their friends. Create a photo booth area at your party for them to snap away!
GIRLFRIEND TIP: Transform existing furniture in the room to match your party theme! To create the feeling of a bedroom, I decorated a chaise lounge that was already there to look like a bed by covering it with a sparkly sequin tablecloth and decorating it with plush unicorn and rainbow pillows. Place a side table next to the faux-bed to complete the look.
Just like in a girl’s bedroom, there are decorations on shelves, so I used the built-in shelf along the basement wall to hold rainbow unicorn emoji decor.
RAINBOW UNICORN EMOJI PARTY IDEAS – PERSONALIZED DIY RAINBOW WALL ART!
Create your own personalized DIY Rainbow Wall Art that your guest of honor would like to keep. I personalized this DIY Rainbow Wall Art piece with the guest of honor’s first initial. RAINBOW UNICORN EMOJI PARTY IDEAS – CANDY TABLE!
The wow-factor to almost any party is the candy table! Here I used an inflatable rainbow sprinkler and put it on the top of the table to create a super cool backdrop.
For a bit of sparkle, I added rainbow crystal chandeliers. These chandeliers are actually meant to hang, but to use them on a table, I just placed them on top of tall candlestick holders.
GIRLFRIEND TIP: Decorate with paper plates! Add emoji decorations to the table with paper plates. Here I taped a few emoji plates on the rainbow arch and placed some on the table to use.
GIRLFRIEND TIP: Use painters tape to attach decorations to the wall!
I also used painters tape to place some of the emoji plates around the window for more decoration. Cute, right? Painters tape is strong enough to hold decorations on your wall and not leave any residue when you remove it. It totally doesn’t mess up your walls!
MAKE YOUR OWN RAINBOW GUMBALL WANDS!
This was one of my favorite party favors! Check out my DIY RAINBOW GUMBALL WANDS TUTORIAL to see how to make these and a shopping list! Display them upright in a low clear glass container so you can see how fabulous they look displayed on the candy table!
RAINBOW UNICORN EMOJI PARTY IDEAS – COTTON CANDY!

Dress up store-bought cupcakes by adding a themed fondant topper like these fondant unicorn horns. Simply stick them down into the cupcakes and now you have themed cupcakes to display on your candy table!
ADOPT A UNICORN!
At the end of the rainbow, I placed two clear buckets full of white batting that looked to me like clouds. I also filled the buckets with unicorn plush toys that the girls could all adopt and take home with them.

The best part of any party is the FUN! Keep party guests busy with fun and interactive games and activities. I set up a Rainbow Unicorn Emoji Craft Station where the girls would sit and create fun crafts.
MAKE UNICORN HEADBANDS PARTY FAVORS!

Get ready for all the cuteness! Check out my DIY EMOJI BACKPACKS PARTY FAVORS TUTORIAL, then set up all the supplies and have your guests make their own. Super easy and the kids love, love, loved these!
These are jumbo sized plastic tote bags that come with a page of emoji stickers for each guest to decorate their own bags to take home all their take home favor goodies!

Hey Tameka! Thanks so much! I actually give away the inflatable balls and inflatable rainbow sticks to the party guests to take home. The jumbo unicorn I always give to the birthday girl which most times ends up in their bedrooms. The other jumbo rainbow arch and unicorn float are summer toys so you could reuse these in the summer as fun water toys! Gotta love being able to repurpose the inflatables, right?
