Hey party peeps!
I’m so excited to share with you all of the photos and details of my Halloween theme this year, “Twilight Fairy’s Hollow” featuring our new “Twilight Fairy” printable collection available now in our shop here. This party was also featured on Hostess With The Mostess this week…Yay!
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays! For me, it’s a time where kids and adults alike can use their imaginations and create a fantasy world of wonder and fun! My girls play dress up year round and right now are loving being fairies. So, this year, I decided to put a creative spin on the traditional fairy party with a gothic, mystical and dark twist.
HOW DID SHE DO THAT?
THE THEME & DECOR PLAN
“Twilight Fairy’s Hollow” theme is based on my idea of whimsical Twilight Fairies, whose job it is to bring out the twinkling stars during the twilight hour of night. A perfect theme for tweens! To set the scene I used a color palette of black, charcoal gray, silver with bling, glitter and iron accents. The charcoal gray rosette table linen reminded me of a fairy flower garden and was the inspiration for the entire theme! I also wanted to create a magical feel to the party space by suspending large Twilight Fairy silhouettes from the ceiling. Ten23 Designs created these custom laser wood cut fairies that matched my printables perfectly! To add some sparkle I embellished Peckled’s signature glitter pinwheels with a gorgeous jeweled spider and plastic spiders I spray painted silver. For a touch of glam I mixed in glass flower shaped charger plates in charcoal gray and sparkly black votive holders from Koyal Wholesale in the decor. I also wanted the party to have a vintage feel, so I used Peckled’s vintage collection of napkin rings and flower balls as well as vintage mini top hats by Cupcake Wishes in the party’s decor.
THE TWILIGHT FAIRY’S ARRIVAL!
It all starts with an invitation from The Twilight Fairy Queen (my daughter) requesting that her Twilight Fairy friends journey to Twilight Fairy’s Hollow to celebrate the coming of Halloween with sweet treats, fun and crafts! To immediately set the scene, I placed a Twilight Fairy wreath made by JP Alexander Events on the door to greet our guests to Twilight Fairy’s Hollow.
TWILIGHT FAIRY’S CLOSET
The journey for the girls began with a visit the Twilight Fairy’s Closet to be magically transformed into Twilight Fairies with tutus embellished with black bling flower clips, sparkly black fairy wings personalized with a printable initial medallion of each guest’s first name (available in our shop) and fabulous mini top hats from Cupcake Wishes & Birthday Dreams. For an extra special touch, Shawna Brockmeier Styled Events designed this gorgeous custom designed fabric crown for the Twilight Fairy Queen to wear and each girl got a sparkly bling stick wand from Made By A Princess that I topped with a bling flower hair clip! We even had a makeup artist on hand (me) to add black webbed eyeliner and sparkle to each girl’s face! They LOVED that!
TWILIGHT FAIRY PHOTO SHOOT
Once they were all dolled up, it was time for their Fairy Photo shoot! The girls had a blast posing for the camera in front of a fabulous rosette backdrop that matched the party decor perfectly!
GIRLFRIEND TIP: It’s important to do the shoot right after they get all dressed up and BEFORE they eat so they are picture perfect! PLUS…it gave me plenty of time to print out the photos on my home printer while the girls ate dinner so they were ready in time for the girls to use later in their craft.
TWILIGHT FAIRY’S HOLLOW DINNER
After their photo shoot, the fairies were whisked off to dinner with the Twilight Fairy Queen at a table set just for them complete with personalized framed printable placecards, fairy winged chairs and vintage napkin rings. Each guest’s plate were customized with each guest’s name and their own special fairy using Twilight Fairy silhouette decals made by Ten23 Designs.
Check out that fabulous candelabra…can you believe we actually made that out of an old chandelier and an old thrift store lamp! (DIY tutorial coming soon). AND…how about those Twilight Fairies flying over the table…a little fishing wire and fabulous wood cutouts from Ten23 Designs! Super easy and such a wow factor—the girls were amazed by them!
TWILIGHT FAIRY BOOK OF WISHES
After dinner the fairies joined together to create their own Book of Wishes! Each girl had their own scrapbook with a printable cover personalized with each girl’s name and their own flower plate full of sparkly embellishments and printed photos from their photo shoot earlier that night. The girls had super fun decorating their scrapbook pages and writing all their wishes in the books. They even swapped books and wrote their wishes for each other. TOO CUTE and such a great personalized party favor! The Book of Wishes personalized covers are available in our shop here.
GIRLFRIEND TIP: By that time, I had printed all the girl’s photos while they were eating dinner and had them ready to go!
TWILIGHT FAIRY’S HOLLOW SWEETS & TREATS BAR
The magical night ended on a sweet note with a visit to the Twilight Fairy’s Hollow Sweets & Treats Bar full of glittery, yummy treats like these fabulous glittered candy apples, chocolate covered oreos and chocolate covered pretzel rods made by Autumn Lynn’s Chocolate Sins! I always like to offer a mix of sweets and candy that guests can eat at the party for dessert like cupcakes and cookies and some treats that they can take home like these mini candy balls packed in individual mini glass candy jars with lids from The TomKat Studio. Get creative and display them on this wooden 3-tiered stand from Hello My Sweet. I also offer cotton candy with custom designed labels that come in pre-sealed clear bags which is the perfect take home sweet treat! Cotton candy bags are available in our shop here in any design to match your party’s theme.
GIRLFRIEND TIP: Bling scoops and tongs from Talia’s Creative Printing is the perfect addition to the table to enable guests to scoop out gumballs and pickup other sweet treats while maintaining good hygiene!
GIRLFRIEND TIP: Also, be sure to have take home bags on hand that are large enough for each guest to fill a bag of goodies to take home…AND…make sure to have individual sized bags or containers to hold any of the sweets that won’t do well sitting in a take home bag with other items. I learned this the hard way when I first started out and guests were trying to take home cupcakes and unwrapped chocolate candies in the same bag as hard candy and other treats. Which turned into a big mess inside the bag! NICE!
WOW-FACTOR DIY CANDELABRA CUPCAKE STAND!
The wow-factor centerpiece to the table was the DIY candelabra cupcake stand! How cute is this! Fill it with store bought cupcakes that were glammed up with glitter cupcake wrappers by Dress My Cupcake. To give the cupcake display a whimical touch I mixed in different cupcake toppers including these gorgeous acrylic fairy laser cutouts from Ten23 Designs, our “Twilight Fairy” printable cupcake toppers and these fabulous glitter paper pinwheels from Peckled that I embellished with silver spiders and rhinestones and backed with black die cut doilies.
TWILIGHT FAIRY COOKIE & MILK BAR!
The fairy guests also got to enjoy custom iced flower and fairy cookies made by the fabulous Sweet C’s Bake Shop that she placed on sticks that made for a gorgeous presentation paired with a printable table sign. The girls LOVED these!
To wash down all the yummy treats, I served Twilight Fairy Water which was sparkly, fizzy Sprite or milk served in these cute glass milk bottle jars and striped paper straws from Koyal Wholesale. To give them an extra fabulous touch, I personalized each one with Twilight Fairy printable drink wraps and straw flags.
I hope this party theme has inspired you to host your own Twilight Fairy’s Hollow party. Perfect for tweens!

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays too! My birthday is exactly one week before Halloween. My sister’s is exactly one week after Halloween. When we were kids my mom would kill three birds with one stone (hehehe) by throwing us combined Halloween/Birthday parties. Now my baby girl’s bday is only a couple of days before Halloween so I’m pretty sure that soon I’ll be planning her birthday parties around Halloween too! Definitely pinning this for later. So many beautiful ideas here! <3
